The Social Network & More

Having recently watched The Social Network I though that it would be a nice relaxing topic to blog on considering that it has in many ways revolutionised how we use the Internet and how people now interact. Many a night out has ended not with can I get your number but can I get your Facebook - both these questions are normally given a no but that is not the point. The point is that this website has changed the way we socialise off the Internet as well.

The film itself is a great screen play and it is deserving of all the hype that it has received in the press in recent months. They balance the drama and fact really well and it makes for one hell of a good watch. I was a little skeptical because I had read the book first and often you always prefer a good book to a good movie, but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it just as much as the book.

I think one of my favourite scenes was when he found out that Mark had essentially diluted him out of the company so that he was no longer a part of Facebook and the brutal reality of how money and passion can destroy friendships. A very well put together film and if I had a star system on here it would be a solid 5 stars.

As I stated on my other blog post, I am rethinking my keywords which is a bit annoying because I thought I was sure however i have thought about what I really want to rank for in 6 months and the commercial appeal of the term copywriter. It is very appealing but I guess i am saying that ranking for a term more commercial such as seo services might be more exciting.

It is nearly double the search count and so double as competitive as the term copywriter but who cares. I need to be aggressive in link building and article writing with a good distribution network and maintain a solid work ethic to be successful with it. Fact is any keyword is achievable, just need to put the work in.

So the plan is to go after seo services and affordable seo as the two core terms and then focus on my tier 2 keywords that are content writing, article marketing and copywriting services that are much less competitive but are very niche so could result in some good search traffic results if I can achieve a Page 1 rank on  Google.

Importance Of Blog Updating

Updating a blog can be a bit of a long process and sometimes it is very difficult to write 300 words or so on a subject every single day. For J21Media I currently have 2 blogs going as I have a lot to say with the amount of articles and work I am learning and doing each day.

Also at the moment I am really trying to push the key words I am going for and to be honest the results that I am achieving in such an early stage are providing me with all the encouragement I need. The key terms are doing good and I do think the term affordable seo is going to be the one that I nail to Page 1 Google first out of content writing, copywriting services and copywriter.

Copywriter is going to be the longest and probably the hardest to nail down however I think if I can achieve some solid anchor text back links from some good sources then I feel this will get me ranking well quite soon.

Updating a blog each day however is important because Google will keep indexing your blog if it is constantly being updated because it sees it as relevant and new all the time. By having 2 blogs as well I can use one blog for targeting the index page of the back links and the other blog i.e. this blog at targeting my Tier 2 pages so that they get the variety and some link love as well.

My next big intention is to finish off my website as I have a lot more content to go on it and also to start thinking about exactly what services I will be offering. I think I will offer a link building services because I do think that is essential to successful seo and I do know how to do it as well.

Copywriting Services Strategy

Ok I wrote on my other blog about my success with seo wiltshire and the fact that I am now on the first page for that term in Google and the way things are going I think I can achieve a number 1 position for that term. Now this is a good success especially so early on in my attempt to be successful in seo. What I will say is that I know need to start focusing my abilities on to more pressing matters such as being successful for the term copywriting services.

The issue I have here is that it is not inlcuded in my Title tags on my home page otherwise I think I would have ranked for that by now. I think that perhaps I need to rethink where I point the anchor text backlinks too instead of the index page but direct them to the copywriting services page. This is an area of confusion to me which I might try to get some clairty on by reading some more articles around advanced backlinks.

Copywriting services is not a very competitive keyword and so I am quite confident I will be able to lock it down however I need to establish which is the better way to go about it. Especially when the keyword or phrase in question is not included in the title tag on the home page but is in the title tag on the Tier 2 pages.

Perhaps I will run it over my friend Martyn who can explain to me what would be the more sensible way to go about it. I am trying to limit the amount of advice I get from him because I want to try and study and arrive at the answers myself as I feel this will give me a much better understanding of seo and quality link building practises.

Some Positive SEO Results To Report

It is Thursday and the weather is nice and cloudy down in the South West of England and I have to be honest I am a little tired while writing this. Things have been going really well in my seo quest to get J21Media to rank well for the key terms I specified which were copywriter, copywriting services, content writing, affordable seo and a new recent addition seo wiltshire. Some of these key terms are not overly tough to achieve but some do have quite a high competition to them.

Affordable seo is the key term that is in the middle in terms of it is quite competitive but to be honest I am having some fantastic results coming in very early on from it. We started the week at Page 20 on Google, then achieved Page 15 and last night I couldn't believe we had got to Page 9. To me this is such a positive result because I have noticed Google beginning to pickup my backlinks which probably is resulting in this jump. the good thing is that I know I have about 20 more backlinks that Google hasn't indexed yet which makes me confident for a first Page within the next month.

I also intend to do some good article marketing around this keyword to get some good inlinks from these article directories. I have been working on my website as well, producing more pages on seo and copywriter topics so that my website is seen as relevant and useful by the Search Engines. I really want a content rich website so that I know that I am maximising my on page seo and then focusing on building a few backlinks each day, a few articles each day and updating my blogs each day. It is my belief that these techniques will yield great results for J21Media.

The term copywriter and copywriting services are remaining illusive at this stage as I do not seem to be within the first 20 Pages of Google for either. I am not worried as I know that copywriter is the most competitive word I am going for and so is going to take the longest and I also know that the term copywriting services is not in my title tag due to the length of it. I feel I will get somewhere with copywriting services when I start focusing my link building and article marketing on that specific anchor text backlink and I do not feel I will need it in my title tag.

My only question is should I put the back links to the index page of my website or the copywriting services page of my website?

Keyword Stuffing and Paid Links For SEO

A lovely Wednesday morning in the South East in Wiltshire and i am happier today firstly because the heating has been on meaning that I am not wearing three jumpers and secondly because the weather is quite nice out. Don't get me wrong it is still freezing but something about a nice blue sky even if cold that makes you feel better than a cloudy grey one.

Anyway today I have been working my way through Chapter 9 of my seo guide from Seomoz and it has been around seo myths and manipulating the search engines and general 'black hat' techniques. All the techniques at one point or another in my past when I hadn't a clue about seo would be ideas that have come to my mind. I am glad to see how the search engines handle these bad practises because at the end of the day, it makes for better search results and everyone benefits from good results. Also now i am pursuing a career in white hat seo work, it means that I can have some long term success in something. I guess the attraction to the 'black hat' seo stuff or 'the dark side' is down to the ease of doing it. I like to go to the analogy that if something were easy then everybody would be doing it. 'White hat' is the way forward - definitely.

My key words are going well and I have been doing some link building but I will begin this properly next week and also some article marketing as well. I will write an article around the keyword 'content writing' later and submit it to the article directory ezinearticles and hopefully i will begin to rank well for that keyword soon.

'Affordable seo'  is still doing OK but hopefully the more links that start getting indexed then the better that will do. I anticipate that over November if I push correctly on the article marketing and get 20 articles out there and also get some solid link building done i.e. 40 links, then I am hopeful I will be page 5 minimum for all my key terms and page 1 for my long tail key terms. I will use my blog posts to work on my long tail keywords and use them for the anchor text back links.

Seo Thoughts and Progress with J21Media

Well it is early evening and I am shattered as I have been up pretty early the last few days but like a good trooper I am making sure that I update my blog so that I get that nice little seo backlink in somewhere. I have noticed today that the number of backlinks that I have been creating have began to be picked up by Google which is exciting. Also i managed to submit into about 6 link directories all with anchor text backlinks for my keywords, so hopefully they will carry some weight with them.

Also I completed 1 Chapter on my beginners guide that I have been studying so that I am happy with and it evolved around Googles Web Masters Tools which was very interesting. I installed Analytics today on my website and when my site begins to rank well it will be interesting to see the kind of traffic I can pull in.

I also intend to create another few pages to my website such as FAQ page, link building page and also an article marketing page. This should help me rank well with Google by having a content rich a relevant website. I am excited about maybe getting to Page 1 google for 'seo wiltshire' as I have been scattering a few links around for that term and I just now need to get that text on the home page and then I think I could nail it.

I have decided to keep log of all my articles that I create instead of just putting them up online because by keeping a nice spread sheet I can see how many I have done, what anchor text backlinks I used and where I placed them as well. Then this will help me gauge the results I get. I might try and get one more article done this evening for me and have it placed up on ezinearticles. I will be linking it for 'seo wiltshire' because I am waiting until next month before I start the article marketing push on my main keywords.

Indexed Pages On Google Has Weight

Well yesterday I had some pretty cool results on my key term 'affordable seo' going from Page 20 to Page 15 literally overnight. Now I kind of thin this is because Google is still getting used to my website as it is anew site but still I guess the links that I am placing around are beginning to give some good link love to J21Media.

Analysing some of the first page contenders for the term 'affordable seo' I noticed that while the top 3 to 5 had a large amount of inbound links, the sites lower on the page  had few inbound links but they did have a large amount of indexed pages on Google. Lots of the sites had up to 40 pages which made me think that they were ranking well as a result of the amount of information on the actual website.

My first reaction is to add more pages to my website which I think I will do but to be honest I think once I get up to around the 50 inbound links and start my article marketing, I do not think it will take me long to achieve a first page position for this key word set.

By including more pages as well it should get Google to notice me more as well especially in these early days. I think I will do a small page on some key seo factors such as link baiting, article work, press releases, social media and perhaps a FAQ page as well. Then I will start doing some inbound links to my Tier 2 pages and not just my Tier 1 page. This way it should help google pickup and index my copywriter pages and my content writing pages.

So essentially I want to increase my inbound links in general terms and have some solid anchor text back links for the key words 'affordable seo' and then I think I should nail a first page quite efficiently. Coupled with this I intend to increase the amount of pages on my website so that Google will view it as a content rich website like the others that are ranking highly on this term.

I think that I have got quite excited on this term because it is competitive but not too competitive and the fact that I have see some good results quite early on, it is making me want to really push this one and then go after copywriter next.

Second J21Media Blog Spot

Well hello people, this is my second blog that I have created for J21Media on the basis of venting my frustrations, my views on seo, what I have been learning and what my opinions are on various topics about e-commerce and online marketing.

One of the reasons I decided to create this blog was so that I can get another batch of inbound links coming into my website from my own anchor text links. Also because I am learning so much in terms of seo and copywriting services it means that I have a lot of thoughts, opinions and energy to write about it all. This is good news for Blogging because the most posts I do and more regularly I keep them updated the better for my search rank and blog relevance.

So now I have 2 blogs I need to be aware to not over extend myself by writing too much in one and none in the other and vice versa. I perhaps need to think about exactly what I am going to write in each. Perhaps one can be more about personal posts and the other about business? Or I can just treat them the same and aim to include posts of 300 in each rather than 600 in one. Then I can get 2 lots of backlinks per day from 2 different blogs. Also it is a great place to get my thoughts and feelings on what I have learnt out of my system.

Well either way I work it out, the benefit of having 2 blog areas is very good and I am glad that I have got it. Not sure about the design I am going to use but I can ponder that over the next week or so and come to a decision another time.
